The individual must have a BS degree in Accounting and a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.

Experience working with the monthly close, balance sheet analysis and assistance with the financial statement would be required of this role. Mid size privately held Healthcare organization is in search of a Controller to support the CFO with full financial responsibility and reporting. The role will also include various controls and compliance projects, acquisition support, etc. Growing company backed by a strong PE firm contributing to the growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively manages the monthly closing process, ensuring that all relevant transactions are accurately recorded and allocated.
- Manages the weekly billing process for relevant entities and answers questions from clients.
- Establishes controls to ensure that all financial records for the company are complete, error free and comply with generally accepted accounting principles
- Completes relevant reports including weekly cash forecasts and reconciliation of daily cash receipts.
- Leads the company’s accounting team, including payables, receivables and general accounting. Recruits, trains and is responsible for evaluating accounting staff.
- Manages the annual audit process and tax preparation process
- Responds to requests for information from private equity investor, banks, vendors and other relevant stakeholders.
- Carries out special projects for the CFO
- Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting and management experience combined with CPA and Big 4 audit background.
- Exceptional analytical and communications skills and a “hands-on” orientation.
- Experience in Great Plains a plus.

Job Summary: The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting in the accurate accounting in the corporate accounting group. This person will work on a team that deals directly with Property Management Companies to collect and record the financial results of properties owned by the Company. The Staff Accountant will assist in implementing industry best practices to ensure accurate and timely monthly closes, as well as full compliance with all internal controls. Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Perform preliminary and detailed review of monthly financial packages (including general ledger and bank account reconciliations) prepared by the Property Management Companies • Perform preliminary review of new and amended leases for proper accounting in accordance with U.S. GAAP • Communicate directly with Property Management team with regards to follow-up questions and deliverables • Prepare all accounting entries related to assigned areas and ensure the accuracy of accounts and balances • Prepare reconciliations for internally managed accounts in a format that allows supervisor to understand in review process • Prepare monthly variance explanations for significant fluctuations of Actual to Plan and Prior Period, as used in our Flash meetings • Prepare quarterly and year-end financial schedules and related footnotes with strict adherence to departmental deadlines • Assist with annual and off-quarter reporting for borrower reporting and compliance audits, as needed • Assist with special projects/requests as necessary |
