Retained Searches and Direct Hire – Contingency Searches
Retained Search
A retained search is better suited for C-Level Executive Searches – CEO, CFO, COO, SVP’s and VP’s. These cases are where a company has a pressing executive level need that requires a candidate who will hold key leadership responsibilities and whose services are integral to overall organizational success. Given the strategic importance of these positions, there is often a degree of urgency and/or confidentiality that accompanies this type of search. Retained searches are given priority status in terms of the level of consulting talent assigned to conduct the search and the time and resources that are dedicated to the project.
CF Executive Recruiting success is determined by the client’s willingness to formulate a partnership early on in providing information and together formulate a clear and outcome driven process that will lead to the desired results. Furthermore, CF Executive Recruiting carefully identifies and screens potential candidates based on their interpersonal styles, attributes, and work histories in order to insure the greatest potential for “culture fit” and positive organizational impact.
The fees for a retained search are typically higher than in contingency searches. Typical fee structure: 30-33% of the candidate’s first year’s annual compensation, due to the level of energy and resources that we invest in sourcing quality candidates. These fees are usually paid out over three set time periods (usually at the beginning, at 45days, and then again at 90 days).
Direct Hire – Contingency based searches
Contingency based searches is where CF Executive Recruiting team spends most of their time due to the matrix of accounting, finance and administration departments throughout organizations. This search is better suited for degreed professionals building their careers up through very seasoned and qualified mid-level management. Working with CF Executive Recruiting on a Contingency basis is a Risk-Free way to evaluate and ensure that you hire the right fit for your team.
A search fee is charged if you decide to hire someone that we refer to you, which means the selected candidate was that person who clearly outshined other external resources and internal resources.
The fees for a direct hire contingency based search are typically within a 20-25% fee structure based of the candidate’s annual compensation. There also a 90-day guarantee attached to this search.
